My vision of Mangenguey is definitely fantastic… something out of a wonderful old adventure novel. As if…
An extravagant 18th century Lady is lost at sea after the pirates attack her galleon. She lands on this tropical island and tries to recreate the memories of the palaces left behind. She builds with the help of the natives, using whatever available materials, and this way creates the renaissance in the jungle.
Guests will approach the island in a seaplane or large luxury banka, a mix between a native boat and the gondolas used in Venice by the rich courtesans of the Renaissance. This sea craft will have an elegant lounging salon downstairs were food and drinks are served, and an upper deck with a more relaxed atmosphere. As they approach only a slight insinuation of building tops, weather vanes, and glittering copulas can be perceived through the green of the jungle.
