ichard Carlisle Mander is a master craftsman whose career includes construction and restoration projects in some of the most prestigious addresses around the world.

He was born in New York in 1950 to Diantha Lawrence, from a well-known old New York family, and Theodore Mander of Wolver Hampton, England, who decorated before his death by the Queen for his services to the Crown.

At the age of 18, he discovered his love for working with his hands in the dockyards of Kennebunkport, Maine while working as an apprentice for a local carpenter.
